What is the difference between an e-Visa and a traditional visa?

E-Visa is applied and received online. You don’t need to submit passport or any documents.

On the other hand, you need to contact to Embassy of India in your country and submit all required documents to get India Visa.

You also have to wait about weeks for having a traditional Visa instead of few days as e-Visa.

The main difference between an Indian e-Visa and a traditional visa is the application process and delivery method.

An Indian e-Visa is a travel authorization that allows foreign nationals to enter India for tourist, business, or medical reasons. It is obtained online through the official government website and does not necessitate a physical visit to an Indian embassy or consulate. The e-Visa is processed and sent electronically via email, therefore no paper documentation is required.

A traditional Indian visa, on the other hand, requires the applicant to visit an Indian embassy or consulate in person to submit a paper application, passport, and supporting papers. A traditional visa takes longer to complete than an e-Visa, and the visa is attached to the passport.

Another distinction between the two is the length of stay and validity. An Indian e-Visa has a maximum stay of 60 or 90 days, depending on the kind of e-Visa, but a traditional visa has a longer stay and validity period dependent on the visa category and type.

It is important to note that not all nationalities are eligible for an Indian e-Visa, and it is recommended to check the eligibility requirements and application process on the official government website before applying.
