To go to India, Cameroonian nationals can apply for an Indian e-Visa. The type of e-Visa required depends on the purpose of the trip.

  • Indian e-Tourist Visa: Tourists intending to pursue touristic activities should apply for an e-Tourist Visa if they plan to visit the country. The Indian e-Tourist Visa is divided into 03 types based on the length of Cameroonian citizens’ stay in the country. Specifically, the 30 days, double entry visa allows Cameroonian nationals to remain in the country for up to 30 days from the arrival date. Meanwhile, India 1 year e-tourist visa and India 5 years e-tourist visa permit applicants to enter India as many times as they wish and remain there for 1 year or 5 years respectively. However, Cameroonian citizens cannot stay longer than 90 days for each trip using these types of visas.
  • Indian e-Business Visa: A multiple-entry business visa is necessary if they are visiting India on business. It is valid for 365 days from the date of grant of ETA, allowing a total stay of up to 365 days with each stay should not exceed 180 days
  • Indian e-Medical Visa: An e-Medical visa is required for medical visits to the country. The validity of this visa is 04 months from the issued date, allowing a total stay of 60 days with triple entries into the country.
  • Indian e-Conference visa: This type of visa is granted for Cameroonian nationals to participate in Conferences held by the Indian Government. Visitors can stay in India for up to 30 days from their arrival date with this type of e-Visa.

All applicants for an Indian e-Visa must have a current email address, a valid passport, and a valid debit or credit card.

In order to be eligible for an Indian e-Visa, applicants must also satisfy the requirements listed below.

  • When arriving in India, tourists are needed to have a passport that is still valid for at least six months from the date they enter the country. The applicant's passport needs to have at least two blank pages left so that it can be stamped when they enter and leave the country
  • Each traveler must have his/her own passport when applying for an e-Tourist Visa
  • A recent photograph of the applicant
  • A scan of the biographical page of the passport

In addition, there are a few requirements for each type of eVisa that Cameroonian applicants must meet:

  • For Indian e-Conference visa application: An invitation letter from the organizer and Political clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
  • For Indian e-Business visa applications: An Invitation letter from the host and an ID card/Passport of the host
  • For India e-Medical & Medical Attendant visa applications: A letter from the Indian hospital or medical center where the applicant will be treated. Attendants need to have an eVisa number from the patient to apply.

There are 28 airports and five seaports where e-Visa holders can land in India. But they can leave from any of the permitted Immigration Checkpoints.

Travelers arriving by land or by sea must apply for an Indian visa from a local Indian embassy in Cameroon prior to their arrival in the country.

Applicants will need to enter some personal information, a passport number, and other relevant details. Travelers are expected to answer them honestly and truthfully.

A processing fee will also be assessed for travelers using valid credit/debit cards online. The information submitted by travelers can be checked to make sure it is correct and matches the information on their passports.

After the traveler has applied for an e-visa and it has been processed, the traveler will receive the e-visa within a few business days. It is required that travelers show an Indian Immigration and Border Official along with their passport a printed copy of their e-Tourist visa approval when they travel.

All that remains is for travelers to receive an entry stamp on their passports, which will be an official approval of their entry into the country.

Indian e-Visa fee for Cameroonian citizens

Comparatively to the whole cost of the trip, the India e-Visa Fee is a small, but necessary, expense. You have to pay two kinds of fees when you apply for an Indian visa online: a service fee and a government fee.

While the Government fee is fixed irrespective of your nationality, the service fee varies. Indian Immigration Services provides 03 service charge options, and the fees are as follows:

  • Normal: this standardized option can guarantee you a Visa in 03 business days or less.
  • Urgent: The e-Visa can be obtained within 24 hours using this option.
  • Super urgent: When you need a Visa in an emergency, this option is your best option. It can be obtained in around 05 business hours.

Payment method: The option of electronic payment or wire transfer is available. For electronic payment, the following cards are available: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and PayPal.
