Obtaining an Indian e-Visa is a very simple process that can be done in the comfort of one's home, and it eliminates the need to visit an embassy or consulate to obtain one.

Types of Indian e-Visa for Cambodian citizens

Visitors from Cambodia can apply for an Indian e-Visa to visit India. The type of e-Visa required depends on the purpose of the visit.

  • Indian e-Tourist Visa: Travelers who wish to visit the country for touristic purposes will need to apply for this e-Visa. Currently, there are 03 types of India e-Tourist visa, depending on how long Cambodian citizens stay in the country. Specifically, the 30 days, double entry visa is valid for 01 month from the issue date, allowing Cambodian nationals to remain in the country for up to 30 days from the arrival date.

In addition, there are 2 other types of e-tourist visas, including India 1 year e-tourist visa and India 5 years e-tourist visa. With these types of visa, Cambodian visitors can enter and remain in India within the validity period of the visa, 1 year or 5 years respectively, with each stay shall not exceed 90 days.

  • Indian e-Business Visa: They will need an Indian e-Business visa if engaging in business is their purpose. This visa is valid for 365 days from the date of grant of ETA, allowing a total stay of up to 365 days with each stay should not exceed 180 days. This is a multiple-entry visa.
  • Indian e-Conference visa: This type of visa is granted for Cambodian nationals who attend conferences held by the Indian Government. Visitors can stay in India for up to 30 days from their arrival date with this type of e-Visa.
  • e-Medical visa & Medical Attendant: This visa allows patients to seek medical treatment or for Cambodian citizens accompanying them in India. The validity of this visa is 04 months from the issued date, allowing a total stay of 60 days with triple entries into the country.

The Indian e-Visa requires all applicants to have a valid email address, a valid passport, and a valid debit/credit card.

Additionally, applicants need to meet these requirements in order to receive an Indian e-Visa:

  • The validity of a passport must be at least 6 months from the date of arrival in India, with a minimum of two blank pages on it for entry and exit stamps.
  • A scan of the passport’s biographical page showing their passport number
  • A passport-style photo of the applicant

The type of visa Cambodian citizens want to apply for determines what additional documents they need to provide. For example:

  • For Indian e-Conference visa application: An invitation letter from the organizer and Political clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
  • For Indian e-Business visa applications: An Invitation letter from the host and an ID card/Passport of the host
  • For India e-Medical & Medical Attendant visa applications: A letter from the Indian hospital or medical center where the applicant will be treated. Attendants need to have an eVisa number from the patient to apply.

The e-Visa application does not allow parents to list their children.

Those with an e-Visa can enter the country through one of 28 certified airports and five seaports, and they can exit through any Immigration Check Post allowed by the Indian Government.

In order to enter India by land or sea, the traveler must apply for a visa at the Indian embassy in Cambodia in their home country before arriving.

Travelers need to provide some personal details, passport information, professional credentials, educational information as well as other information when filling out the application. The traveler will also be asked to answer some security questions. All travelers should answer them honestly and truthfully.

Additionally, travelers will be required to pay a processing fee online by using a valid debit or credit card. In addition, travelers will be able to review the information they have entered to make sure that it is correct and that it matches the information shown on the traveler's passport.

It is possible to add a document, such as COVID-19 insurance, in order to increase your chances of getting approved and most importantly, retaining your benefit.

After submitting the traveler's application, they will receive their e-Visa a few business days later. Visitors should bring a printout of their approved e-Tourist visa along with their passport when they travel to India to show Indian Immigration and Border Officials.

An entry stamp will be placed on the traveler's passport once all of this is completed and approved.

Government fees are determined by the Indian Government for citizens of every country, regardless of the type of visa. Service fees, on the other hand, can vary. Depending on the service fee, you can choose from 03 options:

  • Normal: You can get a Visa in as few as 03 business days if you use this standardized option.
  • Urgent: By choosing this option, your e-Visa will arrive within 24 hours.
  • Super Urgent: The most suitable option for emergency situations. You can obtain a visa in just 05 business hours through this method.

Payment method: Depending on your preference, you can either make the payment electronically or via wire transfer (transaction through the Bank of Cyprus). For electronic payments, there are many options: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or PayPal.
